Mrs Firmin, Oliver and William’s Mum, came to school to run two sessions for Key Stage 2 about the her role at the new hospital. She is a scientist at the blood bank and spoke to the children about a range of aspects including equipment used in the labs, what the job entailed and how to look for abnormalities in the blood samples under the powerful microscope. We asked lots of relevant questions at the end of her presentation and would like to thank Mrs Firmin for volunteering to talk to us!
Pupils in Years 3-6 were invited to enter a national poster competition on “Journeys”. These posters can be seen in detail in the corridor between the main school and Year 5/6 building – do pop along to see them!
