Class R

Welcome to Reception!

Mrs Gordon is our teacher and Mrs Bush is our teaching assistant. We have lots of fun In Class R as we learn a lot about the things that interest us. We are always very active in our class, exploring and finding out about new things. We are learning to be independent, critical thinkers as well as being kind, caring and helpful to others and the world around us.
Aside from folowing our own interests we have a curriculum that helps us develop the building blocks and knowledge needed for a good start in Class 1. We see this year as the most important in our childrens' primary education.

Thank you for visiting our page. Over time, we will add to our page. If you are a parent, you will have access to the Seesaw app where you will have weekly updates about our activity.  smiley

Our curriculum is very broad and would be difficult to tell you everything we do on our class page! Each term we alternrate with a History or Geography focus (these are our main themes) but this is only a small part of what goes on!
We follow White Rose for our Maths curriculum and Read Write Inc. for our Phonics. We have a an art focus which alternates with a DT each term and weekly children will engage in adult led learning for music, PE, PSHE and RE. In Class R we aim to play outdoors when we can and Forest School skills are also taught.
Our Curriculum pages will tell you more about what we learn.
See below our main subject overviews for each term.

Autumn Term 1: All about me! (History focus)

Autumn Term 2: Where do I live? (Geography focus)

Spring 1: Nursery Rhymes (History focus)

Spring 2: On the Farm (Geography focus)

Summer 1: Transport (History focus)

Summer 2: Waste in the water (Geography focus)
